Throughout his first term as your Marin County Supervisor, Damon Connolly has abided by his campaign promise to stay closely in tune with the people and issues of District 1 - by listening and being responsive to the community. He's held frequent community meetings and town halls and has had an open door policy at the Civic Center, making it possible to craft solutions to our most pressing needs with public involvement and input.

Now serving as the President of the Board of the Supervisors, he is better positioned than ever to put our shared values at the forefront of Marin County’s government. Elsewhere, we present some of the work he's done on on housing, transportation, the environment, fiscal responsibility & pensions, and homelessness. Below are two additional issues important to Marin that he's worked on.

Hack 4 Health - My office partnered with our County IST and Public Health teams along with our local schools to sponsor the first ever Marin County Hackathon. This successful event provided an opportunity for local students to test their skills in computer science, developing new applications to serve the public in the field of public health through use of the County’s new “Open Data Portal.” Some of the students’ work from the event is now in active use as part of the County’s public health efforts.

Marin History Museum - I worked closely with concerned community members and local officials to preserve this important community asset under the threat of closure and alleged mismanagement. Under my direction, the County reached an agreement with the Museum’s Board of Directors to ensure new leadership for the Museum as well as a plan for caring for the assets under the Museum’s protection. The Museum is now taking steps to secure the future stability of the organization, regaining the trust and support of the community.
